Crisis Policy and Suicide Risk Prevention

Last updated: 07/07/2026

1. Purpose

This policy aims to inform Pegase IA users about the service limitations regarding mental health and to define the measures implemented when psychological distress or suicide risk is detected during a conversation.

Pegase IA is a conversational AI designed for introspection.

The service is intended to support personal reflection and exploration of the user’s thoughts.

It does not constitute medical, psychiatric, or psychological care.

2. Nature of the service

Pegase IA:

- is not a psychologist;

- is not a psychiatrist;

- is not a psychotherapist;

- is not a medical doctor;

- does not make any diagnosis;

- does not prescribe any treatment;

- does not provide medical or psychological care.

Generated responses are produced automatically by a computer system and may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate for some situations.

The user remains solely responsible for decisions made based on the information obtained through the service.

3. Emergency situations

Pegase IA should never be used as the only resource when a person is in an emergency situation.

This includes, but is not limited to:

- suicidal thoughts;

- self-harm thoughts;

- intent to act;

- severe panic attacks;

- acute psychological distress episodes;

- violent situations;

- medical or psychiatric emergencies.

In these situations, the user must immediately contact a qualified professional or the appropriate emergency services.

4. Detection of risk situations

Pegase IA may detect words, expressions, or contexts that indicate a serious distress situation.

When possible, the system may:

- interrupt the normal course of the conversation;

- display a warning message;

- encourage the user to seek immediate human assistance;

- provide contact information for appropriate support services.

However, Pegase IA does not guarantee detection of all crisis situations.

The absence of a warning does not mean a situation is safe.

5. Emergency numbers

For users located in France:

- Suicide prevention: 3114

- Medical emergencies: 15

- European emergency number: 112

- Police: 17

- Fire brigade: 18

- Domestic violence: 3919

Users located in other countries should contact local emergency services.

6. Service limitations

Pegase IA:

- cannot call emergency services;

- cannot contact a relative;

- cannot locate a user;

- cannot intervene physically;

- cannot guarantee a person’s safety;

- cannot replace human support.

The user expressly acknowledges these limitations when using the service.

7. Protection of vulnerable users

Pegase IA encourages anyone experiencing significant psychological distress to consult a qualified health professional.

The service is intended to complement personal reflection and not to replace medical or psychological care.

When a situation appears to exceed the planned scope of use, Pegase IA may direct the user to appropriate professional resources.

8. Responsibility

Pegase IA is subject to an obligation of means.

Given the nature of the service and the inherent limitations of AI technology:

- no guarantee is given regarding detection of suicide risk;

- no guarantee is given regarding the relevance of generated responses;

- no guarantee is given regarding the absence of errors or omissions.

Pegase IA cannot be held responsible for consequences resulting from:

- an undetected emergency situation;

- a misinterpretation of a response;

- a decision made by the user;

- the fact that a user did not seek appropriate human help.

9. Reporting

If you believe that the system presents a risk to user safety or wish to report an issue related to crisis management, you may contact:

support@pegase-ia.fr

All reports will be reviewed carefully to improve service safety.

10. Policy changes

Pegase IA reserves the right to modify this policy at any time to take into account:

- regulatory developments;

- technological changes;

- user feedback related to service safety.

The current version is the one published on the site at the time of consultation.
